I was born and raised on a farm in rural southern middle Tennessee. Growing
up my life was filled with animals and open spaces. After being graduated
from Columbia Academy, I earned a Bachelors of Arts degree from Rollins
College in Winter Park, Florida. I spent a number of years in creative
pursuits including my role as stage manager for Tennessee Dance Theatre
and working with artists of varied disciplines. Bodywork has been an unexplored
talent since working with actors in college. Comments by a recipient of
such touch lead to the decision to formally study massage.
I completed certification as a massage therapist in December 1998 from
Cumberland Institute of Wellness Therapy in Brentwood, Tennessee. I was
licensed by the State of Tennessee in January 1999, License # 1414. Since
that time I have continued my study of massage therapies through an ongoing
series of seminars and workshops.
